تفاصيل الوظيفة

We are looking for a co-trainer to join our team for this year’s summer camp, for the design and delivery of training sessions on Making, Hacking and Digital Fabrications.

Duration​:
Working flexible hours, max 3 hours per week, on curriculum design and implementation of mock sessions in April, May and June.
Attend the camp’s period (T.o.T, Setting up, Implementation, Packing and Evaluation) from July 20 to August 3, 2019.
We will provide adequate accommodation on the camp-site.

About the Camp:
The Arab Digital Expression Camps (ADEC) is a two-week summer camp taking place for the past 12 years and gathering annually 66 Arab youth aged 12 to 15 in an adventure of learning and self-expression.
ADEC is a free space for expression and debate; self-exploration and skills development; confidence-building and critical thinking among youth coming from different socioeconomic backgrounds. It offers the participants a chance to explore their capacity and self-expression through exploring open culture and open source digital and artistic tools in a safe environment conducive to expression. The candidate will join our 30-member strong team of talented techies, artists, educators, organizers and youth leaders

About ADEF:
Arab Digital Expression Foundation is a non-profit foundation that is registered under the Ministry of Social Affairs in Egypt. ADEF carries out a diverse portfolio of programs and projects in the fields of digital empowerment, free expression and alternative media, knowledge production and management, learning and education, as well as arts and culture where their outcomes feed into and build upon each other for maximum effectiveness

Tasks and responsibilities
Pre-Camp
April, May and June 2019
Work closely with the main trainer on designing 7 independent, non accumulative workshops based on previous curricula of 1 hour and a half duration each, and one introductory workshop of 1 hour duration.
Share with the Program Coordinator a material list of all logistic requirements
Document the designed sessions on ADEF’s wiki
Assist the main trainer on the implementation of a total of 2 mock sessions in DECA (ADEF’s Digital Expression Community Area in Muqattam) to test curricula.

On Camp-Site
120th of July to3th of August 2019
Attend all training of trainers (T.o.T) workshops
Deliver each workshop in Arabic two or three times a day depending, on the schedule
Implement a daily safety check of hardware equipment (batteries, motors, wires, resistors, capacitors, etc.)
Fill weekly monitoring and evaluation reports
Participate in Group Tasks

Group Tasks:
Required by all staff members (Administration, Trainers and Group Leaders)
Help setting up the camp space (network infrastructure, labs, banners,..)
At the arrival of the participants, each team member is assigned to do an orientation around camp-site for 3 participants.
Each team member assists 3 participants in choosing workshops and creating a tailored schedule for each one of them using ADEC’s digital platform
Attend all group activities to create a healthy bond with the participants (morning circles, meals, breaks, evening activities and closing ceremony)
Each pair of two staff members is responsible for the monitoring and safety of a group of 6 participants during a day trip off camp-site
In the last phase of the camp, participants are encouraged to create their own group projects. Each team member is assigned to 2-3 projects, their role is to provide participants with the needed material and help them with time management
Take part in the camp evaluation process
Help packing the camp equipment

Job Requirements
The ideal candidate is a technology hobbyist who can help to create a fun, project-based curriculum to introduce circuitry, working with LED’s and servo motors
Candidate must be able to implement well-rounded technology, age-appropriate, curricula in Arabic.
Candidate will be supported by the main trainer and program coordinator in this process.
Knowledge of electronic components, Arduinos and Raspberry Pis.
Openness and ability to facilitate activities with young participants is a must.
Passion for technology, coding, informal education, and youth programs.
Familiarity with Open Source operating systems like Ubuntu and CentOS is a plus.
This is a project-based assignment with an expected offer of 10,000 L.E. Candidate could be eligible to a part-time or full-time post at ADEF following the camp evaluation process

الفترة الزمنية:

العمل بشكل مرن خلال الفترة من شهر أبريل/نيسان حتى شهر يونيو/حزيران ٢٠١٩ -بحد أقصى ٣ ساعات في الأسبوع- لتصميم المنهاج وتنفيذ الورشات التجريبية.
العمل بدوام كامل خلال  فترة المعسكر من يوم 20 يوليو/تموز حتى 3 أغسطس/آب ٢٠١٩ متضمنة مراحل: تدريب المدربين، الإعداد، التنفيذ، رزم الأغراض والتقييم.
سوف نقوم بتوفير إقامة ملائمة في خلال فترة المعسكر.


عن المعسكر:

معسكرات أضِف للفتية  هي مشروع سنوي مدته أسبوعين يتجدد انعقاده منذ 2007 . يجمع المعسكر سنوياً ٦٦ فتاة وفتى ( تتراوح أعمارهم بين ١٢ لـ ١٥عام) في رحلة تعلّم وتعبير واستكشاف الذات و العالم .  

تعتبر المعسكرات  مساحة حرة للتعبير والجدل. هي مساحة أيضاً لاستكشاف الذات وتنمية المهارات والقدرات.  مساحة لبناء الثقة والتفكير النقدي لفتية و فتيات من خلفيات اجتماعية واقتصادية متنوعة. يوفر المعسكر للمشاركين فرصة لاستكشاف قدراتهم من خلال استكشاف مفاهيم الثقافة المفتوحة. بالإضافة إلى تعلم أدوات فنية رقمية مفتوحة المصدر في بيئة آمنة ومناسبة للتعبير.

سينضم المرشح لهذه الوظيفة  إلى فريق عمل مكون من ٣٠ عضو من التقنيين  والفنانين والمنظمين ورواد الأسر الموهوبين .

تنظم أضِف مجموعة برامج ومشاريع تدور حول استخدام التقنيات مفتوحة المصدر والإيمان بالتعبير الحر و الإعلام البديل وإنتاج ومشاركة المعرفة، بالإضافة إلى الفنون والثقافة . حيث أن مخرجات تلك البرامج والمشاريع تغذي وتبني على بعضها البعض من أجل تحقيق أقصى كفاءة ممكنة.

المهام والمسؤوليات:
قبل المعسكر:

أبريل/نيسان حتى يونيو/حزيران ٢٠١٩

  • العمل عن قرب مع المدرب الأساسي على تطوير ٧ ورش منفصلة، لا تعتمد على التراكمية، بناء على المناهج السابقة (مدة كل ورشة ساعة ونصف)  بالإضافة إلى ورشة تمهيدية مدتها ساعة واحدة.
  • تسليم منسق البرامج قائمة بكل الاحتياجات اللوجيستية.
  • توثيق كتابي لكل الورشات التي تم تصميمها على ويكي أضف.
  • المساعدة في تنفيذ ٢ ورشات تجريبية في مساحة دِكّة بمقر أضف بالمقطم، لتجربة المنهج.

أثناء فترة المعسكر:

20 يوليو/تموز حتى 3 أغسطس/آب

  • المشاركة في كل جلسات وأنشطة تدريب المدربين.
  • كل فريق تدريبي مكون من مدربين (أحدهما أساسي والآخر مساعد) مسؤول عن تنفيذ من ٣ إلى ٢ ورشة يومياً، مدة كل منها ساعة ونصف، لمدة ٧ أيام.
  • فحص المعدات التقنية المستهلكة يوميًا للتأكد من جاهزيتها لورشات اليوم القادم (بطاريات، مواتير، كابلات، المقاومات والمكثفات الكهربائية..).
  • ملء تقارير المتابعة والتقييم الأسبوعية.
  • المشاركة في المهام الجماعية.

المهام الجماعية:

مطلوبة من كل أعضاء الفريق (إدارة، مدربين ورواد الآسر)

  • المشاركة في تجهيز الموقع للمعسكرات (بناء شبكة الانترنت، تجهيز المعامل، تعليق اليافطات..).
  • عند وصول المشاركين يتولى كل فرد من الفريق، ٣ مشاركين يعرفهم بمساحة المعسكر ويتولى تسكينهم.
  • يعاون كل فرد من الفريق ثلاثة من المشاركين على اختيار الورش وتصميم جدول لكل مشارك يتماشى مع اهتماماته.
  • المشاركة في الحكم الذاتي، وهو تطوع أفراد الفريق في التواجد مع المشاركين في الفترات الغير مجدولة مثل استراحة بعد الغذاء والوقت الحر للفتية. يصمم جدول الاوقات الحرة ويختار كل مشارك الزمان والمكان الذي يريد التواجد فيه حتى يمتلئ الجدول.
  • المشاركة في كل الأنشطة الجماعية لخلق علاقة اجتماعية مع المشاركين ( دائرة الصباح، الوجبات، السمر، الرحلة وحفل الختام).
  • أثناء الرحلة التي تتم خارج موقع المعسكر، كل فردين من الفريق يتولون مسئولية ٦ من الفتية والفتيات المشاركين.
في آخر مرحلة من المعسكر، نشجع المشاركين على تطوير وتنفيذ مشاريع خاصة بهم بناء على ما تعلموه في الورش، مهمتنا في تلك المرحلة تقتصر على مساعدة المشاركين في تنظيم وقتهم وتوفير طلباتهم اللوجيستية.
المشاركة في التقييم الجماعي للمعسكر.
المشاركة في تجميع وضب أغراض المعسكر.

متطلبات الوظيفة:

  • مطلوب شخص شغوف بالتكنولوجيا، مهتم بالتعليم وبناء برامج لصغار السن. قادر على المساعدة في خلق منهاج لتعليم مبادئ الكهرباء والإلكترونيات ودوائر التحكم البسيطة.
  • القدرة على تيسير منهج، باللغة العربية، مناسب للفئة العمرية للفتية (١٢ إلى ١٥ سنة).  سيحصل المرشح على دعم دائم من المدرب الأساسي ومن منسق البرامج.
  • الرغبة والإنفتاح على تيسير أنشطة مع مشاركين صغار في السن، ضرورية.
  • معرفة دوائر التحكم الآلي ( Arduinos and Raspberry Pis ).
  • يفضل التآلف مع نظم التشغيل مفتوحة المصدر مثل Ubuntu وCentOS.

يرجى العلم أن هذه الوظيفة قائمة على مدة المشروع والراتب المقدر لها قيمته ١٠,٠٠٠ جنيه مصري قابل للتفاوض بناء على الخبرة. يمكن أن يكون المرشح مؤهلاً لوظيفة بدوام جزئي أو كامل في المؤسسة بناء على عملية تقييم المعسكر.
