position Overview:

The Technical Office and Installation Electrical Engineer for wastewater treatment plants is responsible for designing, planning, supervising, and commissioning electrical systems critical to the operation of treatment facilities. This includes power distribution, control systems, instrumentation, and electrical infrastructure. The role combines technical office responsibilities with on-site oversight to ensure successful project execution and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Technical Office Duties:

1. Design and Documentation:

- Prepare, review, and modify electrical designs, including single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and load schedules specific to wastewater treatment plants.

- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including bill of quantities (BOQ), material submittals, and design calculations.

- Ensure designs are compliant with industry standards ( IEC, NEC , SBC ) and align with project specifications.

2. Project Coordination:

- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, mechanical, and process engineers) to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other plant components.

- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to procure electrical materials and equipment on schedule.

- Prepare and monitor project schedules related to electrical works, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.

3. Compliance and Quality Assurance:

- Review and approve technical submittals, ensuring compliance with design standards and project requirements.

- Conduct quality checks on engineering deliverables and ensure alignment with environmental and safety regulations.

4. Reporting and Communication:

- Prepare technical reports and progress updates for project stakeholders.

- Participate in design reviews and technical meetings to resolve challenges and optimize solutions.

Installation and Site Duties:

1. Electrical Installation Supervision:

- Oversee the installation of electrical systems, including power distribution panels, transformers, switchgear, motors, control panels, Instrumentations and SCADA systems.

- Inspect on-site electrical works to ensure compliance with approved designs and safety standards.

- Verify cable routing, terminations, and grounding systems for proper installation.

2. Testing and Commissioning:

- Lead the testing and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring functionality and performance meet design specifications.

- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning phases.

3. Instrumentation and Control Systems:

- Oversee the installation and calibration of instrumentation and control devices, including sensors, actuators, and PLC systems.

- Ensure proper integration of electrical systems with process automation and SCADA.

 

Education and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

- 7 years of experience in electrical design and installation for industrial projects, with a preference for wastewater treatment plants.

 

Technical Knowledge:

- Proficiency in electrical design software (AutoCAD Electrical , ETAP).

- Strong understanding of power systems, control circuits, and process instrumentation.
