• Monitors the execution of the Health & Safety functions related projects on a regular basis to ensure the project deliverables are delivered on time with the agreed quality and budget.
• Develops policies, procedures, guidelines and standards related to the HS function as per the requirement of BS OHSAS 18001 : 2007.
• Orients the department staff with the overall Administration strategy, HS objectives and policies and procedures.
• Provides guidance, leadership and oversight to HS staff to ensure compliance with the overall objectives and quality standards of the department.
• Prioritizes, coordinates, and allocates work assignments to staff, and resolves day-to-day staffing problems and issues.
• Monitors the HS standards on a regular basis to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Conducts monthly progress meetings with the department team to discuss identify issues, obstacles and potential risks in the department.
• Establishes environmental hazard and risk standards and guidelines according to industry standards and best practices.
• Establishes health and safety standards and procedures to be implemented by all employees working in hazard areas, i.e. Glass Plant (ovens) and warehouses.
• Establishes environmental hazard and disaster/risk management strategy and policies for the company.
• Develops a database and inventory of the Company’s environmental hazard and risk sources and equipment.
• Develops an appropriate fire fighting network to face buildings/plant burning disasters.
• Coordinates with Plant managers to implement corrective actions and schedules follow up visits.
• Conducts safety training and drills to increase awareness levels among employees (e.g. fire fighting training, disaster management, etc).
